Raspberry Matcha Latte

Raspberry Matcha Latte

If you’ve loved our blueberry and strawberry matcha lattes, this is the latte you should make next. This raspberry matcha latte is slightly tart, but perfectly balanced with earthy matcha. It’s a bright, fruity twist on your daily matcha, and, thankfully, surprisingly easy to make at home.

What we love about this recipe is the homemade raspberry compote- don’t skip it!. It adds a naturally sweet, jammy layer that pairs so well with whatever milk you choose to use. Make this when you need a little boost in the morning or as an afternoon pick-me-up.

Why you’ll love it

This latte hits the perfect balance between tangy and creamy. Add in high-quality matcha powder, and it’s the perfect way to elevate your day.

What type of matcha works best?

What matcha should you use in a latte?

For a latte like this, you’ll want a matcha that’s specifically crafted to pair well with milk. Our latte matcha powder is designed for exactly this. It has a slightly bolder, more robust flavor that holds its own against creamy milk and raspberry compote without getting lost.

If you prefer something a bit more delicate, you can still use another ceremonial-grade matcha powder, but for the most balanced, café-style result, latte matcha is your best choice.

Ingredients

For the latte

  • 1 tsp matcha powder

  • 2 oz warm water

  • 6 oz milk of choice

  • Raspberry compote (recipe below)

  • Ice

Raspberry Compote

  • ½ cup fresh or frozen raspberries

  • 1 tsp lemon juice

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • ½ tbsp water

Directions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine raspberries, lemon juice, sugar, and water. Heat over medium, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes until the mixture breaks down and thickens. For a smoother texture, strain the compote to create a syrup. Let it cool before using.

  2. Sift your matcha into a bowl to remove any clumps. Add warm water and whisk until smooth and frothy.

  3. In a glass, add a few spoonfuls of raspberry compote. Fill with ice, then pour in your milk. Top with the prepared matcha.

Enjoy!
