Why bone broth?

Bone broth, similar to matcha, is a nutritional powerhouse. Rich in collagen, glutamine, and glycine, it is thought to help nourish and protect cells in our gut, reduce inflammation, and help strengthen the gut barrier. Bone broth also contains essential minerals like calcium and magnesium, which are necessary for overall health. The gelatin and glycine in bone broth may help repair the gut lining, making it a great choice for anyone wanting to improve digestion and overall well-being. Additionally, it contains naturally occurring electrolytes to keep you hydrated and energized.

What you’ll need

Matcha: We recommend using ceremonial-grade matcha, such as our Daily Ritual or Original Ceremonial Grade. Be sure to sift your matcha before adding it to your cup to prevent clumps!

Bone broth: Look for an unsalted, plain bone broth. You can use either chicken or beef, but chicken bone broth has a milder flavor.  

Coconut milk: Choose a full-fat coconut milk for a creamier flavor. You can also use regular cow’s milk or another non-dairy milk.

Vanilla: Use a real vanilla extract instead of an imitation for better flavor

Nutmeg: A little ground nutmeg gives this latte the perfect flavor.

Honey: This just adds a touch of sweetness. You can also use maple syrup or omit altogether.

Matcha latte recipes

Ingredients:

1 tsp matcha powder

2/3 cups bone broth, chicken/beef (preferably unsalted or no added ingredients)

¼ cup coconut milk

½ tsp vanilla

1/8 tsp nutmeg

Honey to taste

Directions:

  1. Heat bone broth in a small saucepan or microwave to 180F

  2. In a large mug, add sifted matcha and bone broth. Mix using a handheld frother. 

  3. Add honey (or sweetener of choice). Adjust to taste.

  4. In a microwave-safe cup, heat coconut milk in 30-second intervals until warm. Add vanilla, nutmeg, and froth to combine.

  5. Pour coconut milk over the bone broth/matcha mix.
