We heard there was a green shot that has spiked in popularity recently. Our interests immediately peaked!

Upon further research, it turns out this green tea shot consists of whiskey, peach schnapps, sour mix, and soda/lemonade. But where’s the green tea in the shot glass?! So we decided it was essential to come up with our own… one that actually contains its namesake!

A healthier alternative to a green tea shot that has REAL matcha green tea.

The healthy twist behind our green tea shot recipe (Alcoholic and non-alcoholic)

While this is a green tea shot, we’re using matcha green tea in our recipe. Both green tea and matcha come from the same plant- the Camellia sinensis plant. The difference is that green tea is cultivated under full sun, and the leaves either come loose or bagged, whereas matcha is shaded 3-4 weeks before harvest and ground into a very fine powder. Green tea also typically has a brown, dullish color, while (good quality) matcha is bright and vibrant green.

Matcha also contains a higher amount of l-theanine and beneficial antioxidants.

No artificial ingredients or sweeteners in this green tea shot glass

For our version of the green tea shot, we’ve removed all artificial ingredients and stuck with more wholesome ingredients. The beautiful green color of this shot comes from high-quality matcha instead of yellow dye #5 and blue dye #1.

We recommend using ceremonial grade matcha here!

We’ve also added yuzu juice which gives this drink a delicious citrusy and fresh taste. Yuzu is a citrus fruit that hails from East Asia. You can find Yuzu juice at many grocery stores as well as online.
