What are chocolate bombs?
Chocolate bombs have been all the rage lately, and for good reason. They are small chocolate spheres often filled with hot cocoa mix and mini marshmallows. But when dropped in hot milk or water, they melt, releasing the cocoa mix inside and creating a tasty concoction. Our version of a hot chocolate bomb is obviously made with matcha instead! Leaving you with a creamy, silkily smooth, white matcha hot chocolate. Truly can you think of anything better?

What to do if you don’t have a chocolate mold?
Chocolate bombs may sound intimidating, but with just a few minutes and a bit of patience we promise it’s something even someone new to matcha or baking can make. Chocolate bombs are easiest if made using a silicone molds, but if you don’t have one of those laying around it’s ok. You can also use paper cupcake liners! Simply add 1 tablespoon of chocolate into each cupcake liner and use a brush to coat the bottom and sides. Let sit until chocolate has hardened, then brush with about another teaspoon of chocolate. Let sit until completely hardened.
How to make a full sphere
In order to make a full sphere, remove the chocolate from your mold or cupcake liner and add your matcha filling. Place in a cupcake liner or small ceramic bowl. Drizzle a bit of chocolate on the rim of the unfilled chocolate shell then top each matcha-filled shell with a coated, unfilled shell to form a sphere. Use the back of a spoon to gently smooth chocolate over the edges to completely enclose it.
