Chocolate and peanut butter is truly a heavenly combination. The only thing that can make this combo any better is the addition of high-quality matcha. We used chocolate matcha powder in this recipe, and it adds the most delicious richness and decadence. Matcha powder can also give you a small boost of energy without feeling like you will bounce off the walls.

Why we love this recipe

It’s easy and makes for a healthy treat or snack. It’s also kid-friendly, which can come in handy if you're looking to get your little one to eat a bit healthier. Peanut butter and yogurt are good protein sources and can leave you with a bit more energy and feeling satisfied for longer.
Easy snacks for kids

Ingredients

Yogurt

Use whole-fat yogurt for a better flavor and texture. Greek yogurt often has more protein, so that’s what we opted for. Plain yogurt makes for a great base as you can sweeten to your preference, but vanilla yogurt would also work.

Peanut Butter

Opt for creamy salted peanut butter. And check the label for any nasty ingredients! The best varieties will just contain peanuts and salt. You can also try a crunchy peanut butter if you like that added texture.

Matcha

Sifting your matcha before adding it to the mixture will help prevent any clumps. This recipe calls for our chocolate matcha powder, which adds a delicious richness, but regular matcha will work just as well.

Maple Syrup

This adds just the perfect amount of sweetness. Using plain yogurt will make your bark a bit tangier. Feel free to adjust the amount of maple syrup based on your own personal preferences. Start slow, as you can always add more.

Chocolate Chips

We used semi-sweet chocolate chips, but you can get creative here if you’d like. A mixture of chocolate chips and chocolate chunks would also work well.High protein snacks
