How to make simple syrup

Simple syrup is a necessity for most cocktail recipes. Thankfully, it’s easy and quick to make at home. All you need is table sugar and water. Over medium heat, combine equal parts water and sugar and heat until the sugar is fully dissolved. Let it cool, and it’s ready to use! It's as simple as that. You can make extra to keep on hand for future cocktails or drinks as well. Simple syrup can last in an airtight container in the fridge for around four weeks.

For one cocktail

Ingredients:

1/8 cup blueberries

1 oz simple syrup (adjust to taste)

2 oz lemon juice

2 oz dry gin

Soda water to top

blueberry and matcha go together for a perfect fizz drink

Directions:

  1. In a rock glass, muddle blueberries with simple syrup to release their juices. Add a handful of ice.

  3. In a separate glass, combine sifted matcha and water and mix until fully combined. Slowly and gently, pour matcha over cocktail mix.
  4. Zest with lemon peel and serve.

In just a few minutes, you can relax and enjoy a beautiful and delicious matcha cocktail. We love using matcha in cocktails because it adds a layer of complexity and sophistication. Matcha is known for its earthy, umami flavor, which perfectly balances out sweeter cocktails.

So, grab your bestie, a few glasses, and enjoy this perfect spring beverage—with or without the alcohol!
