What are matcha tea bags?

Unlike traditional matcha, which comes as a very fine powder, these whole-leaf matcha tea bags are filled with hand-selected, shade-grown tea leaves that have been steamed and dried. Think of it as matcha in its pure leaf form. When steeped, these tea bags give you a smooth, clean green tea flavor with the signature umami notes of matcha. They’re ideal for infusions, spritzers, cocktails, and any recipe where you want the flavor of matcha without dealing with powder.

Our organic whole-leaf matcha tea bags are the first in the US to use 100% organic matcha in a plant-based tea bag! Find them here.

Variations

  • Spiked version (for a festive cocktail): Add 1 oz vodka, gin, or spiced rum before shaking. Gin pairs especially well with the pear and vanilla notes.

  • Ginger pear spritzer: Add a few slices of fresh ginger while simmering.

  • Top it with sparkling cider: Swap half the soda water for sparkling apple cider for a sweeter, holiday drink.

  • Add maple: Use maple syrup instead of honey for cozier fall flavors.

Holiday mocktails
