It’s a well-known fact in the matchaverse that matcha green tea can elevate almost any flavor or ingredient, but a fan favorite would have to be pairing matcha with chocolate. These two flavors undoubtedly just go so well together  — and adding buttercream to the mix just brings your tastebuds to a whole new level of satisfying deliciousness.

Why should I use matcha powder in baking recipes?

Matcha—on its own—is a powerhouse form of green tea. It’s loaded with antioxidants and can even give you a jitter-free caffeine fix to help you get through the day. It’s everything you could want in a healthy tea green powder and more!

On top of its amazing nutritional value, its strong and rich, earthy umami flavor makes for a dynamic ingredient that is so easy to consume and use in a variety of recipes.

Easy matcha frosting pairs with an easy chocolate cupcake

Our matcha buttercream is a recipe that you can pair or add to so many other classic recipes. In this case, we’re pairing it with a simple and moist chocolate cupcake recipe.

As opposed to all our other matcha chocolate recipes, this one differs in the way that the two flavors (matcha and chocolate) are created individually instead of infused or blended together in the mixture.
