A few  galactagogues are Brewer’s yeast, oats, ginger, fennel, and dark leafy greens, among others. It is important to note, though, that there’s only anecdotal (no medical evidence) that galactagogues are truly effective.

Matcha: Provides a clean, jitter-free energy and is considered safe while breast-feeding. Matcha contains beneficial antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds as well as the amino acid l-theanine. L-theanine is known as a relaxing amino acid and counteracts any negative side effects of caffeine. So, you’re left feeling alert and focused but relaxed.

Chai: Our matcha chai blend is full of relaxing and warming herbs and spices. Chai tea has been shown to be beneficial for heart health and for regulating blood sugar levels. Chai has also been used for centuries as a lactation aid in some Eastern cultures.

Oat milk: Oats are considered a galactagogue and may positively benefit milk supply. Oats also contain iron, which nursing moms need.

Spices: Cinnamon and cardamom are believed to have anti-inflammatory benefits and can be beneficial for overall health.

Himalayan Sea salt: Himalayan Sea salt has a unique combination of minerals and can help support proper hydration due to its mineral content.

Ingredients:

1 tsp matcha chai latte mix

¼ cup hot water

½ cup oat milk

¼ tsp vanilla

1 tsp brown sugar

Pinch of cinnamon

Pinch of cardamom

Pinch of Himalayan Sea salt

Directions:

  1. Sift matcha powder into a bowl. Add water, vanilla, brown sugar, cinnamon, cardamom, and salt, and mix well until small bubbles form on the top.
  2. Heat oat milk in a microwaveable safe container. Froth well, then pour over matcha mix.
