What is aged black ginger:
Grown and aged in Japan, our aged black ginger powder is one of the best sources of Shogaol, a type of polyphenol naturally found in ginger. Shogaol is special for improving circulation, which leaves you with a pleasant sensation of whole-body warmth, known as “poka-poka” in Japanese.
Studies show that black ginger may contain 300-500x more shogaol than regular ginger.
Aged black ginger can be enjoyed in several ways, including hot, iced, in a latte, or even added to your daily matcha.

What you’ll need to make apple cinnamon ginger tea
- Apples: For a sweeter tea, use Gala, Fuji, Honeycrisp, or Golden Delicious varieties. Use Pink Lady, Braeburn, or McIntosh apples for a tarter tea. You can also use a blend of varieties!
- Cinnamon stick: You can use any type of cinnamon stick, just so long as it’s not powdered cinnamon.
- Maple syrup or brown sugar: This adds the perfect amount of sweetness to your tea. Maple syrup will bring out more of the cinnamon flavor of the tea, while brown sugar will give you more caramel notes. Either will work fine, so feel free to choose your preference.

Ingredients:
1 lb apples
1 cinnamon stick
2 tbsp maple syrup or brown sugar
4 cups water
1 tbsp aged black ginger
Directions:
- Wash, core, and slice the apples into eights.
- Add to a saucepan along with the cinnamon, maple syrup, and water.
- Cover the pot with a lid and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and let simmer for 30 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in black ginger powder.
- Cover the pot and let steep for 10 more minutes.
- Pour mixture through a strainer, pressing the apples to extract any excess juice.
- Serve hot or iced.
